We support the wired network backbone, the wireless extended network, all servers and PC’s, the VoIP phone system, camera and physical security systems, network-wide and department-specific software programs, individual user applications, GIS applications, County websites, web access, security appliances and software, VPN and RDC access for managers and vendors, and a variety of other items.

While Greene County Information Technology (IT) understands and appreciates the public’s right to government transparency, information about the County WAN and IT services is protected information under the PA Right-To-Know Law and Federal FOIA laws do not apply to local governments. Greene County IT does not release information about its network for demographic or marketing purposes. Administrative Services: Provides internal hardware and software services and personnel support. Maintains records on all computer equipment from acquisition to sale or disposal.
Computer Services: Provides reliable 24/7 availability of computer resources supporting a combination of servers; also provides problem determination and resolution through the staff or IT specialists.
Network Services: Provides planning, design, maintenance and implementation functions for the county-wide communications network, which supports data and voice access through the use of high-speed lines and communications equipment.
Systems & Programming: Provides a hardware framework for systems and programming services, supplied by vendors, for the design, development and programming of new applications, enhancements of existing systems, program modifications and maintenance.
Technical Services: Provides analysis, design, planning and implementation functions in support of the technical architecture of the Operating Systems and related software resources.

Technical & User Support:
Operations Functionality: Maintains and operates a centralized computer room that is linked to all areas of the county, providing uninterrupted access to computer resources and software applications.
Production Support: Manages and processes information flowing into and out of computer operations, working closely with the county departments to ensure that their information requirements are met timely and accurately.
User Support: Provides support and problem determination, tracking and resolution services as questions and problems arise about production hardware, the data and voice communications network or software applications.
Email Support: Maintains E-mails server to enable county employees E-mail access, monitoring emails closely to prevent viruses; blocking junk E-mail, white listing various E-mails, advising users about quarantined emails, etc.
Web Support: Maintains and provides both Intranet information for county employees and external web content for public information about county government, as well as services needed for those visiting, living and/or working within Greene County. Our IT Office also offers municipal website hosting, where our municipalities can gain webpages on our County's website.
