Our tourism office provides information about Greene County in response to requests from visitors and potential visitors; promote county attractions, businesses, and events through targeted advertising in a variety of regional media and other marketing activities including Website and social media promotion; offer membership benefits and services, including mini-grants, to county businesses, organizations, and individuals; produce and distribute official Greene County Visitors Guide, official Greene County map, and collateral literature covering a variety of topics such as agritourism, dining, events, lodging, recreation, and shopping; produce and sell Greene County keepsake items; act as a general resource for the community at large.
About the Greene County Tourism Promotion Agency (GCTPA)
The Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency is funded through a combination of the 3 percent hotel/motel tax collected by lodging businesses in Greene County, state grant money, and memberships and other fundraising initiatives.
Our goal is to build Greene County as a destination and stimulate our economy by promoting the businesses, attractions, and scenic natural beauty that make us unique.
We are members of Pittsburgh & Its Countryside, the Pennsylvania Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, and the Pennsylvania Tourism & Lodging Association.
Greene County Tourism is part of Greene County government and is supported by the Greene County Commissioners.

Are there family things to do in Greene County? Yes, in Waynesburg and surrounding Greene County, PA, discover a world of history, agritourism and outdoor recreation. Greene County is where northern charm and hospitality come together with a rich history and wild beauty. From the unique shopping and dining in historic Waynesburg, to the natural beauty of the trails and woodlands surrounding the Monongahela River, there’s something for everyone.
With its abundant festivals, events and activities, there is always something fun and interesting for the whole family to enjoy. Some of these include Rain Day and the Fifties Fest & Car Cruise—right in downtown Waynesburg! Waynesburg is also home to the Greene County Fairgrounds. Here you can attend the Annual Buckin’ B Cattle Company Championship Bull Riding Competition, the Annual Sheep & Fiber Festival, the Black Diamond Cluster Dog Show and the Greene County Agricultural Fair as well as the Jacktown Fair, just to name a few.
