GREENE COUNTY AIRPORT
The Greene County Airport is located adjacent to Route 21 just east of I-79. Occupying 140 acres, the Airport contains the following facilities:
36 hangers—there are 34 planes and one hanger used for equipment and one for community service.
Runway -- 75' x 3500'
Restaurant
District Justice Office
Lower-level office space
Maintenance area
Flight School Office (operated separately)
Full motion simulator also has a helicopter landing area and a remote control area.
The maintenance for the Airport is handled by the maintenance workers from the Fairgrounds. Approximately 30 percent of the area at the Airport is mowed. The Airport is utilized for recreation as host of Airport Days, plane rides, and by Waynesburg University and Waynesburg High School for their women’s Cross Country teams.

January 20, 2011 Airport Plans ready for Takeoff. Commissioners still want to develop a small business park at Greene County Airport, but they have apparently scaled back the plans in a cost-saving measure.

September 18, 2010 Contract Awarded for Airport Paving. The airport runway will get a new surface next month after commissioners hired a company from Berks County to repave the runway and taxiways on Thursday, September 23, 2010.

July 7, 2010 Grant received for Airport Project. Greene County has received a $120,000 federal grant to help build a new access road at the county airport as part of a plan to develop an airport business park.

2008 Greene County Airport Master Plan. Greene County Commissioners commissioned L. Robert Kimball and Associates to prepare a Master Plan Update for the Greene County Airport. The update is scheduled to be completed in 2008 and will include a business plan and marketing plan and will contain strategies to maximize the potential of the Airport in terms of economics and recreation.
