Jefferson Morgan Regional Council of Governments (JMRCOG): was created in 2004 and includes Jefferson Township, Morgan Township, Clarksville Borough, Jefferson Borough and Rices Landing Borough. The council was created to allow the municipalities to purchase equipment and materials at a lower cost as well as pull their resources in times of need.

Effective August 12, 2008, the Jefferson Morgan Regional Council of Governments enacted a new Multi-Municipal zoning ordinance. The ordinance covers Jefferson Township, Jefferson Borough, Morgan Township, and Clarksville Borough. Rices Landing Borough has it's own ordinance.

Organizations & landmarks:
Thistlethwaite Family Vineyard and Winery in Jefferson, PA — located about two miles nort of Jefferson. The 200-acre Thistlethwaite family farm dates back to 1892, however at the turn of the century, the younger generation of Thistlethwaite's began planting grape vines. Which has now harvesting and producing a variety of wines, and is open to the public. Thistlethwaite is the first commercial winery to operatin the Greene County with grapes grown solely on its own land.
