Morgan Township was formed in 1781. Boroughs and villages within Morgan Township are: Burson Plan, Castile, Chartiers, Clarksville, Lippencott, Mather, Stony Point, and Teagarden Homes.

Morgan Township Board of Supervisors meet from January to March the first Tuesday at 3:00 PM; from April to December the first Tuesday at 4:00 PM. The meetings will take place at the Municipal Building.

Jefferson Morgan Regional Council of Governments (JMRCOG): was created in 2004 and includes Jefferson Township, Morgan Township, Clarksville Borough, Jefferson Borough and Rices Landing Borough. The council was created to allow the municipalities to purchase equipment and materials at a lower cost as well as pull their resources in times of need. Effective August 12, 2008, the Jefferson Morgan Regional Council of Governments enacted a new Multi-Municipal zoning ordinance.   • 10/22/2010 News — WATERWAY TRAIL PLANS GET A BOOST
    Ten Mile Creek may soon be a popular place for kayakers and canoeists. Plans to create a waterway trail on the Ten Mile from the dam in West Waynesburg to the Monongahela River in Millsboro received a boost last week with the awarding of a state grant to construct two boat launches at the creek.
