Topographic (Topo) Maps for Sale: :

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topographic maps may be purchased through our conservation office, belowing is some general information:

  • Costs:
    • USGS Topographic Greene County Map, scale 1:50,000 = $7.00
    • USGS Topographic quad maps, scale 1:24,000 (-21 various maps cover the county) = $6.00
    • Plus shipping/postage and handling = $2.50

  • How to Order:
    • Call the Conservation District at 724-852-5278

Education and Outreach Activities:

As part of the Greene County Conservation District, our Education & Leadership Programs and our Outreach Activities play a very important part to the district and into our local communities and school districts. We offer various programs to assist our youth and others interested in conservation and science throughout Greene County. 2012 marked the 25th anniversary of the Greene Count Envirothon, where several folks and students become involved. The following list of programs (listed in no preferential order) are offered to residents of Greene County. Equipment Rentals Program:

Lime Spreader Rental Program — The Conservation District has purchased a 20-ton wet lime spreader sized to be more accommodating to our hilly topography. The application of lime is usually the cheapest way of improving the quality of forage for an extended period of time. The Conservation District has created this program for the purpose of being user-friendly regarding cost as well as results. Click here to learn more about the lime spreader rental program.
