December 29, 2011 Mr. Dayich took the Oath of Office after being re-elected in the November 2011 general election. Dayich ran unopposed in both the primary and the general elections; representing Magisterial District 1, which covers Waynesburg Borough and Aleppo, Center, Gilmore, Gray, Jackson, Morris, Richhill, Springhill and Wayne Townships. Lou Dayich has served as District Justice since January 2000.
October 2004 District Judge Louis Dayich was recertified for service as a member of Pennsylvania's Unified Judicial System after he successfully completed continuing legal education course work recently.
October 2008 Greene County Magisterial District Judge Louis Dayich was again certified for service after successfully completing continuing legal education course work. Conducted by the Minor Judiciary Education Board and the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts, the school for district judges is held in Harrisburg, PA. The weeklong instruction program ensures district judges remain current in a variety of legal topics and management techniques needed to fairly adjudicate cases and effectively run a district court office. October 2011 District Judge Louis Dayich was once again recertified for service as a member of Pennsylvania's Unified Judicial System after completing continuing legal education coursework. This 40-hour recertification ensures that district judges remain current on legal topics and management techniques to effectively run a district court. Topics this year included updates on the motor vehicle code, blighted property, bail, bankruptcy, social media, drug identification, truancy, mental health, and digital stalking. Mr. Dayich is a board member of the "Pioneer Festival" ~~ an annual festival held in June at the West Greene High School.
