FEBRUARY 18, 2009 - PRISON BOARD MEETING NOTES Contact: Elizabeth Witte, Communications Director (724-852-5210)
Commissioner Coder called the prison board meeting to order at 11:45 am in the first floor meeting room of the County Office Building. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Snyder, Commissioner Trader, Warden Gillispie, Susan Haxton, Judge Nalitz, Sheriff Ketchum, Gene Lee, General Public and Members of the Press.
MOTIONS:
Sheriff Ketchum made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to approve the minutes from the January 21st, 2009 meeting. Vote unanimous.
Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to go into executive session to discuss personnel issues at 11:55. Vote unanimous.
Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Sheriff Ketchum the second to return from executive session at 12:03. Vote unanimous.
SECURITY:
Continue to house inmates from Butler County.
County jail was on emergency power for 6.5 hours last week.
MAINTENANCE:
Maintenance Department continues to work on various projects.
MTI will be at the Prison the week of March 2, 2009 to finish the cell locking system.
TRAINING:
No training has taken place since the last meeting.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Deposits totaling $6,145.00 were made with the Greene County Treasurers Office for work release and weekend inmates.
Butler County owes $13,005.00 for January 2009 housing.
PUBLIC COMMENT: The next Prison Board meeting will be held on March 18, 2009 at the Corner Cupboard food bank at noon.
ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Sheriff Ketchum the second to adjourn the meeting. Vote unanimous.
