MAY 13, 2009 - PRISON BOARD MEETING NOTES Contact: Elizabeth Witte, Communications Director (724-852-5210)
The Greene County Prison Board meeting was brought to order by Commissioner Trader at 11:45 am in the first floor meeting room of the County Office Building. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Snyder, Warden Gillispie, Deputy Warden Haxton, Marge Fox, Judge Nalitz, Gene Lee and Members of the Press.
MOTIONS: Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Marge Fox the second to approve the minutes from March 18, 2009 meeting. Vote unanimous.
SECURITY: Continue to house inmates from Butler and Fayette Counties.
MAINTENANCE: MTI completed the work on the cell door locking system. TRAINING:
The Deputy warden and Counselor attended training conducted by Candle Reality Tours of Butler, Pennsylvania. The training consisted of drug courts by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and inhalant abuse by an officer from the Cleveland Ohio Police Department.
Officers David Wingard and Monte Keys graduated from the Department of Corrections Training Academy on April 3, 2009.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Deposits totaling $8,086.00 were made with the Greene County Treasurers Office for work release and weekend inmates.
Butler County owes $2,700.00 for April 2009 housing. Fayette County owes $3,555.00 for April 2009 housing.
TOTAL 113 (This includes 2 Butler County inmates and 1 Fayette County inmate)
GENERAL DISCUSSION: Warden Gillispie attended a meeting with the Department of Corrections concerning housing state inmate in County facilities.
PUBLIC COMMENT: The next Prison Board meeting will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Corner Cupboard Food Bank.
ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Marge Fox the second to adjourn the meeting. Vote unanimous.
