APRIL 21, 2010 - PRISON BOARD MEETING NOTES Contact: Elizabeth Witte, Communications Director (724-852-5210)
Commissioner Coder called the Greene County Prison Board meeting to order at 11:45 am in the first floor meeting room of the County Office Building. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Snyder, Commissioner Trader, Warden Gillispie, Deputy Warden Haxton, Cheryl Cowen, Gene Lee, Dave Balint and Members of the Press.
MOTIONS:
Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to approve the minutes of the March 17, 2010 meeting. Vote unanimous.
SECURITY:
Continue to house male and female inmates from Fayette County.
MAINTENANCE:
General maintenance continues daily.
Contractor has seeded and mulched the gas line replacement area on the east end of the prison grounds.
TRAINING:
Supervisor training was held on April 19, 2010.
Warden and Deputy Warden attended training sponsored by the PA County Corrections Association at State College on April 28, 29 and 30, 2010.
Training for all staff was held on April 16, 2010 by Mr. Ray Redding, presenter of "Chump Change". The class was about how inmates manipulate staff.
CPR training started for all staff on April 20, 2010.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Deposits totaling $3,996.00 was deposited with the Greene County Treasurer’s Office for work release and weekend inmates.
Fayette County owes $17,460.00 for March 2010 housing.
TOTAL 108 (This includes 18 Fayette County inmates)
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
We have been advised that a Federal Magistrate has dismissed the Gilblom lawsuit.
PA DOC conducted and inspection on April 12 and 13, 2010.
PUBLIC COMMENT: The next prison board meeting will be held at 11:45 am on May 12, 2010 in the Commissioners Meeting Room.
ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to adjourn the meeting. Vote unanimous.
