JULY 14, 2010 — PRISON BOARD MEETING NOTES Contact: Elizabeth Witte, Communications Director (724-852-5210)
Vice Chairman Commissioner Archie Trader called the prison board to order at 11:45 am in the first floor meeting room of the County Office Building. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Snyder, Warden Gillispie, Deputy Warden Haxton, Judge Nalitz, Marge Fox, Dave Balint, Dick Ketchem, Gene Lee, Cheryl Cowen and Members of the Press.
MOTIONS:
1. Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Marge Fox the second to approve the minutes from May 12, 2010. Vote unanimous.
SECURITY:
Continue to house inmate for Fayette County both male and female.
Conducted a joint exercise with staff from SCI Greene yesterday. The facility was locked down during the exercise and no incidents were reported.
MAINTENANCE:
One of the air conditioning units in G Block down. A new motor was installed yesterday and was bad. A new one will be in today.
The dishwasher is down and should be repaired by Friday.
TRAINING:
Joint operation with SCI Greene.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Deposits totaling $7,444.00 was deposited with the Greene County Treasures office for work release and weekend inmates.
Fayette County owes $28,395.00 for May and $60,165.00 for June inmate housing.
TOTAL 135 (This includes 45 Fayette County inmates)
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Dave Balint made the motion and Sheriff Ketchum the second to go into executive session at 11:50 to discuss a personnel matter.
Commissioner Trader made the motion and Commissioner Snyder the second at 12:05 to return to the meeting from executive session.
