SEPTEMBER 15, 2010 — PRISON BOARD MEETING NOTES

The Greene County Prison Board Meeting was brought to order by Commissioner Trader at noon at the Corner Cupboard Food Bank. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Snyder, Commissioner Morris, Warden Gillispie, Deputy Warden Haxton, Gene Lee, Marge Fox, Dave Balint, Cheryl Cowen and Members of the Press.


MOTIONS:
Commissioner Snyder made the motion and Commissioner Morris the second to approve the minutes from August 18, 2010. Vote unanimous.

SECURITY:
Continue to house both male and female inmates for Fayette County.

MAINTENANCE:
Day to day maintenance is being completed by the maintenance staff.

TRAINING:
All staff was trained on “Right to Know” September 14, 2010 by Brad Langerman from Steratore Sanitary Supply. The company does this each year free of charge.

FINANCIAL REPORT:
  1. Deposits totaling $3,590.00 was deposited with the Greene County Treasurer’s Office for work release and weekend inmates.
  2. Fayette County owes $61,965.00 for August 2010 housing.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Received notice from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Office of County Inspections that the Greene County Prison has achieved 100% compliance with title 37 chapter 95 (minimum standards for local adult detention facilities.) This is the fourth consecutive 100% compliance and will not be inspected again until 2012. Warden Gillispie thanked the deputy warden, shift supervisors, prison board and commissioners for helping to make it possible.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
The next prison board meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11:45 am in the Commissioners Meeting Room.

ADJOURNMENT:
Controller Balint made the motion and Marge Fox the second to adjourn the meeting. Vote unanimous.
