Purchased another chin-up/dipping station for the G-unit exercise area following the completion of the yard containment fence. Additionally purchased another set of bags for usage in the bag toss games that have been constructed for the exercise yards. It is noted that the inmates are using the bag toss games and seem to enjoy this competitive game. We received our new food service cart last week, however there were noticeable problems with the doors to the unit opening properly, so the vendor was contacted who in turn contacted the manufacturer and then conducted a conference call to resolve this issue. Initially planned on returning the unit; however they agreed to provide directions on correcting this problem with the doors. Since this unit was purchased to aid maintaining the correct temperature for the inmate meals we will attempt to address the problem through the method offered by the manufacturer.
Training was conducted on the Remington 870 shotgun for familiarization and weapons handling in July. Firearms training and qualifications continued in August with the firearms training being conducted at Garards Fort. On 08-11-17 training for suicide prevention was conducted in two sessions at the facility.
Incurred the following charges under repairs and maintenance for the month of July for a total of $3,260.34. The majority of these charges reflect service calls from Huckestein and Morgantown Security and Fire.
Fayette County currently owes $3,100.00 for the month of August in regards to rental fees and has paid $15,500.00 for the month of July.
