Prison Board Meeting Notes Greene County Board of Commissioners
The Prison Meetings are conducted on the third Thursday of the month (except for May and August, which will occur on the second Thursday) at 11:45 AM, following the Commissioners Meetings and held in the first floor meeting room. Quarterly meetings will be held at 12:00 noon at the Greene County Prison. Meeting dates and any changes will be posted publically in the local newspaper and on the county website at www.co.greene.pa.us.
The purpose of these board meetings are to review monthly business and happenings at the prison, as well as to vote on matters concerning the Greene County Prison.

The Greene County Prison Board meeting was brought to order by by Commissioner Archie Trader at 11:45 am in the first floor meeting room of the county office building. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Zimmerman, Commissioner Coder, Chief Clerk Jeff Marshall, John Kingston, Michael Kraus, Dave Balint, Jeff Marshall and Charlotte Popielarcheck.
Commissioner Zimmerman made the motion and Commissioner Coder the second to approve the minutes from the June 22, 2017 meeting. Vote unanimous.
With the completion of pre-installation logistics, PSx has started the installation of the new inter-com system today.
Will be conducting the on-site inspection of the area proposed for the installation of the live scan system on August 22, 2017. This inspection will be conducted in part by Mr. Jerry Miller, the Offender Identification Technology Coordinator for the PA Chiefs of Police Association and his associates.
The garden started this year by the inmate workers is starting to produce some vegetables, most notably green beans, zucchini, and some peppers. The inmates that have been involved in the preparation and maintenance of the garden have expressed their satisfaction in that they were provided with an opportunity to be outside working and that they have demonstrated the ability to create something. Regardless of what volume of produce generated this year, I would recommend that we continue with this program next year, if for no other reason that the development of the vocational and self-developmental aspects.
Administrative Assistant Jennifer Gumbarevic and Food Service Karen Taylor received computer training for excel application on -7-25-17 and 07-26-17. Corrections Officer Darcy Bostich is currently in her fourth week of Basic Training at the DOC Academy.
Cummins-Bridgeway provided an annunciator for the main generator which will alarm in operations when a power failure occurs. The equipment was installed on 07-25-17 with a follow up systems check to be conducted on 07-28-17.
Fayette County currently owes $14.500.00 for the month of July in regards to rental fees and has paid $29,750.00 for the month of June.
Deposits totaling $1,880.00 have been made with the treasurerís office for June work release and weekend inmates.
