The Prison Meetings are conducted on the third Thursday of the month (except for May and August, which will occur on the second Thursday) at 11:45 AM, following the Commissioners Meetings and held in the first floor meeting room. Quarterly meetings will be held at 12:00 noon at the Greene County Prison. Meeting dates and any changes will be posted publically in the local newspaper and on the county website at The purpose of these board meetings are to review monthly business and happenings at the prison, as well as to vote on matters concerning the Greene County Prison.

Meeting Opened:
Commissioner Trader called the Greene County Prison Board meeting to order at noon at the Greene County Jail. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Zimmerman, Commissioner Coder, Chief Clerk Jeff Marshall, Warden John Kingston, Marge Fox, Judge Toothman, and Charlotte Popielarcheck.

  1. Commissioner Zimmerman made the motion and Marge Fox the second to approve the minutes of the May 18, 2017 meeting. Vote unanimous.
  1. On 06-19-17 the quarterly security equipment audit was completed. This audit required the complete inventory of all assigned security equipment located within the Armory and Central Control. It was recommended that consideration be given to the purchase of replacement equipment that was damaged or destroyed along with addition of a new series of padlocks.
  1. Cathy Zuback from City Mission in Washington is scheduling a meeting with Dean Virgili on Friday, June 23, 2017 in regards to the eligibility criteria for the pending Job Readiness Program. This program which focuses on retail sales training has achieved a successful employment referral/placement for ex-offenders in the Washington County area. Along with Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, we currently host Celebrate Recovery, St. Annís Outreach Program, Domestic Violence, and the Phoenix Project.
  1. Officer Darcy Bostich will be attending the DOC Training Academy on July 3, 2017 for the Corrections Officer certification. On todayís date and continuing tomorrow we are conducting Taser and aerosol re-certification for our Corrections Officers and have scheduled dates through the end of the month to conduct our annual firearms training and re-certification.
  1. With the receipt of the category 6 wire that IT has provided for the prison have begun pulling wire for the installation of the inter-com system provided through contract by the PSx Group. The installation of the wire which was specified as either Cat5e or Cat6 was cited in the submitted contract as our responsibility with a noted cost savings through our providing the wire and labor. It is noted that we did have some spools of Cat5 wire on site from the previous attempt to install an inter-com system. IT has suggested that utilizing the better grade of wire would be prudent. The Cat5e wire was given to IT for their usage else were in the County. The PSx Group submitted an updated bid on 06-20-17 for the inter-com system at $24,154.00.
Financial Report:
  1. Fayette County currently owes $22,350.00 for the month of June in regards to rental fees and still owes $12,600.00 for the month of May.
  2. Deposits totaling $1,000 have been made with the Treasurerís office for May work release and weekend inmates.

Commissioner Zimmerman made the motion and Commissioner Coder the second to adjourn the meeting. Vote unanimous.
