Greene County Board of Commissioners

The Salary Board Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month immediately following the Commissioners Board Meeting and the Retirement Board Meetings (except for May, August, November, and December); and will be held in the first floor conference room of the County Office Building. Meeting dates and any changes will be posted publically in the local newspaper and on the county website at www.co.greene.pa.us. The purpose of these salary board meetings is to review employee changes, such as staffing and salaries that have occurred since last salary board meeting, discuss any personnel actions, and to vote on matters concerning the employees, vacancy announcements, and any other business.

Meeting Brought to Order:
The Greene County Retirement Board meeting was brought to order by Chairman Blair Zimmerman in the first floor meeting room of the County Office Building. Others in attendance were: Commissioner Coder, Commissioner Trader, Chief Clerk Jeff Marshall, Charlotte Popielarcheck, Rebecca Harris, JoAnne Marshall, Marcy Maletta, Dave Balint, Sheila Rode, Cory Grandel, General Public and Members of the Press.

Minutes — Commissioner Trader made the motion and Commissioner Coder the second to approve the minutes from October 19, 2017. Vote unanimous.

Children & Youth Services (CYS):
  1. Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to accept the resignation of Jennifer Trader, CYS Caseworker I, effective 11-10-17. Vote unanimous.
  2. Controller Balint made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to hire Angela Whoolery as a regular full time County Caseworker II @$21.24 UMWA HS/CYS effective 10-31-17. Vote unanimous.
  3. Controller Balint made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to accept the promotion of Eric Ryan Hurd from probationary to regular status County Caseworker I, CYS @$20.08 per hour UMWA HS/CYS effective 10-17-17. Vote unanimous.
  4. Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to hire Andrew Danko as a regular full time Casework Supervisor @$40,881.84 MG PG 9 effective 10-30-17. Vote unanimous.
  5. Controller Balint made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to hire Michelle Harvey as a regular full time Fiscal Assistant I @$13.77 per hour SEIU PG 8 effective 11-15-17. Vote unanimous.
  6. Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second for the reclassification of Glenn Perry from probationary to regular status Caseworker I @$20.08 per hour effective 07-21-17. Vote unanimous.
Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services (IDD):
  1. Commissioner Coder made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to approve the retirement of Violet Lawless effective 12-15-17 and pay $5,000 severance and all applicable leave balances, including sick time at $50.00 per day. Vote unanimous.
Transportation:
  1. Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to hire Sarah Eddy as a Casual Van Driver @$10.00 per hour effective 11-02-17. Vote unanimous.
Jail:
  1. Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to correct the hire date of William Efaw, Casual Corrections Officer, to 10-22-17 and accepting the resignation of William Efaw effective 10-31-17. Vote unanimous.
  2. Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to approve the promotion effective date for Zachary Burger, regular part time Corrections Officer, to 10-15-17. Vote unanimous.
  3. Controller Balint made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to hire Milton Sibanda, Alex Sielski and Dana Romonosky as Casual Corrections Officers @$12.77 per hour effective 10-23-17. Vote unanimous.
  4. Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to accept the promotion of Alex Sielski to regular part time Corrections Officer I @$14.77 per hour SEIU Prison effective 11-19-17. Vote unanimous.
Domestic Relations:
  1. Sheila Rode made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to hire Janis Tolbert as a regular full time Secretary I @$12.77 per hour SEIU PG 5 effective 10-30-17 and consider the resignation of Janis Tolbert effective 11-01-17. Vote unanimous.
Courts:
  1. Sheila Rode made the motion and Commissioner Trader the second to accept the termination of Theresa Huffman, Administrative Assistant, effective 11-09-17. Vote unanimous.
Meeting Adjournment:
Commissioner Trader made the motion and Controller Balint the second to adjourn the meeting. Vote unanimous.
