WAYNESBURG, PA The Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency will relocate its main office next week, moving from the Greene County Airport to the Fort Jackson Building at 19 South Washington St. in downtown Waynesburg.
The office is expected to open to the public Tuesday, May 4, according to tourism director Jeanie Patton. The agency’s new office space was the former location of Greene County Child Care Information Services, which recently moved to the second floor of the Ben Franklin Building at 22 West High St., Waynesburg.
"We’re looking forward to becoming a part of the downtown Waynesburg business district," Patton said, adding that the office may experience a temporary disruption in phone and/or e-mail service.
Board meetings will continue to be held at 3:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the agency office.
In other news, the agency recently announced that the "2010 Greene County Calendar of Events" brochure is now available at the tourism office and will soon be distributed to other locations throughout the county. The full-color brochure highlights county activities and events occurring through the end of the year.
