CALLING ALL HOUNDS — DOG GONE POOL PARTY

News Release: August 12, 2010
Contact: Humane Society, of Greene County (724-627-9988)

GREENSBORO, PA — On Sunday, September 5th, the Mon View Park Pool in Greensboro will go to the dogs — literally! Beginning at 6 pm, canine citizens will be able to cool off and show off their doggie paddle skills at the end-of-season Annual Dog Gone Pool Party sponsored by the Humane Society of Greene County.

Dogs and their humans are asked to make a donation for admission. Humans are permitted to swim with their dogs, if they so choose. Canines are asked to arrive on a leash and to have proof of vaccination. Also, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

An award ceremony, including prizes for "Best Swimsuit" and "Best in Pool" will take place at 7:30 pm. The pool will remain open until 8 pm.

Quote: "Events designed specifically for pets are few. The Pool Party is a wonderful opportunity for dogs to enjoy an evening of play with their humans while, at the same time, benefiting form the thorough workout that swimming provides. In addition, with the support of the County Commissioners, we are able to raise money that is needed to keep the shelter in operation and help less fortunate animals in Greene County. You can’t find a better bargain for a fun a day and a way to help a worthy cause."

Representatives from the Humane Society will be on hand to supervise the festivities. For further information, call the shelter at 724-627-9988 or click here for a printable flyer or here for the Humane Society website.
