WAYNESBURG, PA – The local chapter of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club recently donated $1,500 to the Greene County Children and Youth Services Advisory Board. As a result of the donation, the CYS Advisory Board was able to purchase Christmas gifts for county foster children and host a holiday party for the children and their families. This year, the donation will also help pay for the foster children’s field trips and outings. Pennsylvania Blue Knights Chapter XVI and “Blue Lodge” #164 of the Free and Accepted Masons of Washington sponsored their sixth annual “Blue Ride” July 26, 2009, to benefit local charities. The event raised $39,000 that was divided between the two organizations and used to support several charities in Greene and Washington counties.
The Blue Knights is a world-wide law enforcement motorcycle club. Chapter XVI is based in Washington County and includes members from Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
