Recreation Offering Pilates Classes Date of Release: January 7, 2010
WAYNESBURG, PA – The Greene County Department of Recreation will offer Pilates classes beginning Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Waynesburg. Certified Pilates instructor Kathy Cochran will lead the classes, which will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Feb. 18 on the upper level of the fairgrounds’ 4-H Building.
County Medical Assistance Transportation Program to Group Consumer Trips Date of Release: January 7, 2010
WAYNESBURG, PA – Effective Jan. 15, the Greene County Medical Assistance Transportation Program will group together consumers taking trips to Pittsburgh and Washington County for medical appointments. These trips will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for appointments made between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Miss Greene County Pageant to mark 20 years March 7 Date of Release: January 6, 2010
WAYNESBURG, PA – Applications are now available for the 20th annual Miss Greene County Pageant, scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, in the Stanley Ferek III Auditorium of Carmichaels Area High School in Carmichaels. Sponsored by Consol Energy, Inc., and the Greene County Commissioners, and presented by the county Department of Recreation, the pageant is open to Greene County girls ages 2 to 17.

Greene County to Receive Grant after Winning National Challenge Date of Release: January 4, 2010
WAYNESBURG, PA – Greene County will receive a $3,500 grant for winning a national contest recognizing its efforts to promote energy and fuel efficiency among county employees and residents.
Zumba Classes to Start January 12 Date of Release: January 4, 2010
WAYNESBURG, PA – From January 12 to February 16, the Greene County Department of Recreation will again offer classes in the fitness program Zumba. Classes will be held Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. with instructor Marianne Kolson on the upper level of the 4-H Building at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Waynesburg.
