WAYNESBURG, PA — Greene County Commissioner Pam Snyder, chair of the Board of Commissioners, has been elected second vice president of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP). Snyder is expected to succeed to first vice president next year, and then to president in 2013.

CCAP members elected Snyder during the association’s annual conference, held Aug. 14-17 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Somerset County.

"I am incredibly honored that my peers from across the Commonwealth have elected me to the position of second vice president of CCAP,” Snyder said. “I look forward to serving on the executive committee and shaping the association’s platform and policies in the coming year. I am also proud to give Greene County a greater voice at the state level."

According to its Web site, CCAP is a statewide, nonprofit, bipartisan association representing the commissioners, chief clerks, administrators, council members, county executives and solicitors of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties. Currently celebrating its 125th anniversary, the association works to strengthen counties’ abilities to govern their own affairs and to improve the well-being and quality of life of constituents.
