WAYNESBURG, PA The Greene County Department of Recreation is launching "Cache Me If You Can," a geocaching game involving eight recreation sites across Greene County.
Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game using global positioning system (GPS) software and GPS-enabled devices, such as smart phones. Prizes or other items of interest are hidden at specific sets of GPS coordinates, and participants are challenged to find each geocache.
For the Greene County game, participants must visit each site, take a photo of themselves at the geocache location and submit 4x6” prints of the photos with the identifying locations marked to the Department of Recreation, 107 Fairgrounds Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370, or by e-mailing pblaker.
Entries will be drawn on the first of each month, with one entry per every 50 entries drawn for no more than five winners per month. Winners will receive an official “Cache Me If You Can” Department of Recreation T-shirt. The game expires Dec. 1, 2012. The eight county recreation sites are:
