County temporarily closing bridge

FOR RELEASE — August 4, 2017

WAYNESBURG, PA — Greene County Bridge No. 75, located on Ingram Hill Road in Morris Township, is being closed immediately due to several repairs that need made.

The county's engineer, Widmer Engineering, is working with the state Department of Transportation to correct the issues so that the bridge may be reopened as soon as possible. The bridge will be closed while Widmer designs and implements those repairs.

Traffic will be detoured using Boulder Road or West Run to Hopewell Ridge back to Ingram Hill Road. Morris Township and emergency services officials have all been notified of the closure and detour.

Originally built in 1919 and rehabilitated in 1951, the 63-foot bridge currently has a 19-ton weight limit and spans Browns Creek.
