  • Tobacco Control Program Announces Skating Event

    GREENSBORO, PA — "Skate Your 'Butts' Off," a free event for all Greene County students in grades 7 through 12, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at Monview Skating Rink.

    "Skate Your 'Butts' Off" is being held in recognition of Kick Butts Day, a national day of activism that empowers youth to speak up and take action against Big Tobacco at more than 2,000 events from coast-to-coast.

    Locally, the event is open to the public and will provide an opportunity to skate at the rink, as well as participate in various tobacco prevention activities. Educational displays about the harmfulness of tobacco products will also be available.

    The event is sponsored by Greene County Tobacco Control Program, a program of Tobacco Free SWPA. The Tobacco Control Program is supported by Greene County Human Services and the county commissioners. It is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. This year, the donation will also help pay for the foster children’s field trips and outings.
