The district will be accepting only passenger tires that are off the rim. Each tire that is collected will be charged a small fee of $1.00, up to 20 tires per person. No tires will be accepted from any tire service company and/or auto repair shops.
This Tire Recycling event will be held on May 19th, 2021 at the Greene County Fairgrounds near the Grandstands from 2pm- 6pm. The Greene County Conservation District recently received funding to match tire disposal costs for Greene County residents. The district will be accepting only passenger tires that are off the rim. PA West Nile Virus Grant funding will offset the tire disposal cost for the Community Tire Recycling Event. Tires are the number one harbor for mosquitos during summer months. This program was designed to aid in the reduction of habitat for breeding mosquitos.
