Waynesburg, PA – The County of Greene is proud to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation (Benedum Foundation) to assist in the development of a business incubator program. This grant will help facilitate the growth of small businesses, providing critical support to local entrepreneurs and fostering economic development within the region.
The incubator program will offer space for local businesses to grow and develop by, providing a structured environment with access to resources and guidance designed to promote growth and sustainability. As part of the program, Greene County will focus on engaging local businesses, encouraging job creation, and fostering long-term economic success.
"We are grateful for the support from the Benedum Foundation," said Commissioner Jared Edgreen, Chairman of the Greene County Commissioners. "This grant will allow us to create opportunities for businesses in our community to thrive, helping to build a stronger local economy."
The grant will assist in funding the operations and programming for the business incubator and will track success through business participation, job creation, and other key performance indicators. “We are currently surveying local business and the public for feedback of what the community needs are. I am excited to add this asset to our community and look forward to opportunities it will offer to existing and new businesses.” stated Commissioner Betsy McClure.
