The Greene County Recycling Department hosts community events and reports all township recycling data to the Department of Environmental Protection. The Greene County Recycling Department is in charge of updating the County Solid Waste Management Plan and applies for all applicable recycling grants. For more information, please see below.

The County of Greene would like to announce that two Electronic Recycling Collection events will be held for 2021. These events will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds on May 19th and September 22nd from 2pm to 6pm. Greene County Employees and JVS employees will adhere to all CDC regulations and recommendations. For more information about these events, please call 724-852-5300.
Basic Rules for Electronics Recycling Events:
Only one CRT style TV per car as requested by the recycling company. Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow CDC recommendations.

Household Hazardous Waste:
The County of Greene, in a partnership with Noble Environmental Specialty Recycling, LLC, will hold a new Household Hazardous Waste Collection on July 17th, 2021 from 9am- 1pm at the Greene County Fairgrounds 4-H Rabbit Barn.
The new Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will accept the follow items for a small fee;
Recycling through Greene Arc: (year-round)
Greene Arc is the recycling agent for the County of Greene. Greene Arc, Inc. is a non-profit corporation providing Residential, Vocational, Day Support, Job Opportunities, Advocacy and Mental Health/Recovery Services to citizens with disabilities from Greene and surrounding counties. Greene Arc's goal is to promote the independence and employment of individuals with disabilities.
