District Attorney Marjorie Fox


District Attorney Marjorie Fox first joined the office of the District Attorney of Greene County as an Assistant District Attorney in 1989, primarily to assist in child abuse and sexual assault cases as well as to represent the Commonwealth in criminal appeals. She was later promoted to First Assistant District Attorney and remained in this capacity until she became District Attorney in 2001.

In 1981, District Attorney Fox was admitted to the practice of law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania. She was admitted to practice before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 2000 and before the Supreme Court of the United States in 2004.

District Attorney Fox took the Oath of Office for District Attorney for her third elected term in December 2011.
District Attorney Fox graduated with a degree in Public Service from the Pennsylvania State University in 1977. She worked as an assistant in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service prior to attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Following her 1981 graduation, she engaged in the general practice of law in Allegheny and Greene Counties before joining the District Attorney’s Office.

On August 1, 2007, Governor Ed Rendell appointed District Attorney Fox to the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing where she served as the representative prosecutor on the Commission through August 2012.

The District Attorney prosecutes criminal cases arising in Greene County, providing necessary legal support to police investigators and continuing to represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the trial of a case and the years of appeals which may follow.
