Perry Township is building a new community park, including a ball field, playground and pavilion. The new park is directly in fron of the Township building on 799 Big Shannon Run Rd. Thank You to Herschel Mathews for his donation of equipment for the ball field, playground and work at township building.

Other new developments in the Township include the installation of new Chistmas lights in Mt. Morris as well as two new "Welcome to Mt. Morris" signs.

NO TAX INCREASE

Adopted 31 December, 2008, the Perry Township tax rate remains the same (no increase) at 3.68 Mills on each dolar of assessed valuation

LOCAL SERVICE TAX

As adopted in Perry Township ordinance no. 4-2008, a local services tax on the privilege of engaging in an occupation has replaced the old occupational privilege tax. The old occupational Priv. tax was collected by the Twp. tax collector but the new locally services tax is collected by Central Tax Bureau. Collection is required through employers and direct payment by taxpayers including nonresidents. The ordinance provides for administration, enforcement and delinquent collection procedures and prescribing penalties for violation.

MONTHLY TWP MEETINGS

The monthly meetings are held at 3:00 p.m. on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Township Building, 799 Big Shannon Run Rd. All meetings are open to the public.
