The Greene County Industrial Development Authority (GCIDA) was officially incorporated October 5, 1967 for a term of fifty years. The Authority is formed under the Industrial Development Authority Law of 1967, Act. No. 102, approved August 23, 1967 and pursuant to a Resolution adopted by the “Board of County Commissioners” of the County of Greene, Pennsylvania on September 12, 1967. On January 19, 1995 a Resolution adopted by the “Board of Commissioners” amends the Articles of Incorporation to increase its term of existence for a period ending October 5, 2044.

The Authority was organized by the County and exists as an autonomous body, for the purposes and with the powers specified under the Economic Development Financing Law. The County and Authority have a Cooperation Agreement dated January 18, 2012. Under said agreement the County has designated the Authority as its lead economic development agency; and it acts as such in concert with Greene County Industrial Developments, Inc. (IDC), a nonprofit industrial development corporation; and the County’s Department of Planning and Development.
