Greene County is home to many parks, pools and recreation facilities, all offering residents and visitors numerous spots to spend their leisure time. Active-duty military personnel and their immediate families may swim for free at any of the county pools under a resolution passed by the Greene County Commissioners.


Park and Pools Management:
Greene County is home to many parks, pools and recreation facilities, all offering residents and visitors numerous spots to spend their leisure time.

Military members must bring their military identification cards to receive passes. Military pool passes are issued to active military and their immediate family (Military, spouse, & children, living in the same household). To receive this military pass, the military person must initially come to the recreation office to have their ID copied and application filled out. Once that is done, the information is passed on to each of the county pools.

Children attending Day Camp with the County program will pay a discounted rate of $2 per day to visit any of the county pools during the camp hours of 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Season Memberships & Discount Packages Available — for a family of four start at $379, plus $60 for a fifth person, $50 for a sixth person & $40 for a seventh person. Individual season memberships are $140 for children age 17 and younger and senior citizens age 62 and older, and $170 for adults ages 18-61. Swimming lessons are $25 per person.

Located adjacent to Lions Club Park in Franklin Township, the waterpark features a 330,000-gallon competition-sized pool with eight lap lanes, two diving boards and a 12-foot diving pool; a 40-by-40-foot children’s play area including a 148-foot spiral water slide, a 25-foot straight water slide, a 180-foot “lazy river” with tubes for floating, and water jets and other play equipment; a bath house with lockers, restrooms, showers and changing facilities; and a concession stand and seating area.

A community room is available onsite to rent for birthdays or other special events in June and July. The fee is $45 to rent for two hours, from either 1:00-3:00 p.m. or 4:00-6:00 p.m. All parking is free.

Season Memberships — $219 for county residents and $249 for non-county residents, plus $50 for each additional person. Individual memberships are $120 for children age 17 and younger and senior citizens age 62 and older, and $150 for adults ages 18 to 61. Swimming lessons are $25 per person.

Wana B Park and Eastern Pool are located in Cumberland Township. The park contains a playground with slides, swings and other equipment; ball fields; an outdoor track; and three pavilions available to rent at various rates. Eastern (Carmichaels) Pool features a 300,000-gallon Z-shaped pool, a diving board, an 11-foot diving pool, an 8-foot water slide, a 70-foot spiral water slide, a 15-by-15-foot children’s play area, lockers, restrooms, showers, changing facilities and snack machines. The facility is also available to rent for parties from 7 p.m.—9 p.m. in June and July. The cost of $80 without the use of the spiral water slide or $120 with the slide. Parties of 100 guests or more will cost an additional $40.

Dedicated June 9, 2005 — when the property became a county entity, Mon View Park is located in Monongahela Township. The park contains Mon View Pool (considered the “crown jewel” of the park), eight picnic pavilions, two baseball fields, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a horseshoe pit and a playground. Mon View Park is also home to a roller rink and community center.

Mon View Pool features a 200,000-gallon T-shaped pool, a diving board, an 11-foot diving pool, a 20x20-foot children’s play area, lockers, restrooms, showers, changing facilities and snack machines.
The facility is also available to rent for parties from 7 p.m.—9 p.m. in June and July. The cost of $80, and parties of 100 guests or more will cost an additional $40. The eight picnic pavilions are also available to rent at various rates.

Mon View Park Roller Rink and Community Center became a county entity in 2005. The facility was completely renovated and officially re-opened April 11, 2008. Roller skates are available for rent, although skaters can bring their own skates or roller blades, as long as they are clean. A concession stand is also available offering hot dogs, pizza, pretzels, noachos, candy bars, soft drinks & water. Concession closes an hour before facility closes.

The roller rink may be booked for private parties, and the facility also offers skating lessons and a club for skaters. We also offer Party Rentals at the Mon View Roller Rink, for more information on party rentals, click here.

Ryerson Station State Park is in Greene County in the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania, near the West Virginia border. The 1,164-acre park features the 62-acre Ronald J. Duke Lake that is named in memory of a former manager of Ryerson Station State Park.

The following list of Parks and Outdoor Recreation Information is not necessarily owned, operated, and/or maintained by the Department of Recreation, but listed as a courtesy to our visitors and residents.   1. Burson Park — located in Clarksville, PA. The park features a ball field, a multi-purpose field and an archery range. FMI contact the Clarksville VFD at 724-377-1460.

  2. Central Park — located between Greene and High Streets in Waynesburg. Park features a playground with new equipment, pavilions and a grass ball field. Also coming soon to the Central Park is the long-awaited "Skateboard Park Project", featuring various ramps, rails, a stair platform and other obstacles.   3. Center Township Park — located next to Ten Mile Creek in Rogersville, PA. The community park offers 3 baseball/softball fields, horseshoe pits, a small playground, restrooms, picnic pavilions for rental. FMI call 724-499-5487.

  4. College Park — located on the Waynesburg University Campus in front of Hanna and Miller Halls in Waynesburg, PA. This park boasts a historic fountain, benches, pathways and a watering hole known as Lake Wahnetta. Lake Wahnetta is for decorative purposes only these days but as was reported in the book "The Waynesburg College Story", by William Howard Dusenberry held clay deposits in the bottom that were used to make the bricks for Miller Hall. Lilly pads and gold fish make this well-maintained part of the part a peaceful spot. FMI call 724-627-8191.

  5. Crawford Park — located off Porter Street (Franklin Township) in Waynesburg, PA. The park offers a covered pavilion, picnic tables, baseball field, playground area, basketball court, football field, volleyball court, concession area and restrooms. Handicap accessible.   6. Emerald Field — located west of Waynesburg, PA. Offering two Pony League baseball fields, dugouts, concession stands, bleachers, restrooms, swings, lingts. Owned by the Waynesburg Baseball League. FMI call 724-627-9982.

  7. Fountain Park — located on the town commons in Waynesburg Borough, PA, featuring park benches, pathways and a fountain. FMI call Waynesburg University at 724-627-8191.

  8. Franklin Township Park — located near the Aquatic Center in Waynesburg, PA. This community park features a playground, baseball diamonds, volleyball and pavilions that are available for rental. FMI call 724-627-5473 or 8542.

  9. Franklin Township Community Park 3 — offering two soccer fields, concession stand, stationary and portable goals. Pavilion Rental. FMI call Franklin Township at 724-627-5473 or 8542.

  10. Greene Township Community Park — located in Mt. Morris, PA. This community park features a basketball court, playground equipment, benches and soda machines. FMI call 724-966-5764.

  11. Hooper Park — located in downtown Waynesburg on High Street. The park's centerpiece is a 66-inch bronze fountain of two children playing in the rain, to symbolize Waynesburg's historic Rain Day. The statue was donated by Waynesburg businessman Glenn R. Toothman III, who founded Memory Medallion, Inc.

  12. Jefferson Township Park — located in Jefferson, PA. Featuring two ball fields, two pavilions, a basketvall court, playground equipment, bleachers, two dugouts and restrooms. FMI call 724-883-4900.

  13. Lions Club Park — located in Franklin Township behind the Foundation Coal Family Aquatic Center in Waynesburg off Route 21. This park offers newly purchased playground equipment, picnic areas, parking and pavilions available for rent for special events. FMI call 724-627-8380.

  14. Manufacturers Field — located in Waynesburg, owned by Waynesburg University, offering the community a sports field for baseball and soccer field. FMI call 724-627-8191.

  15. The original Mason-Dixon Historical Park — located at 79 Buckeye Road, Core, WV and Mount Morris, PA. Park facilities are available to rent year-round, including pavilions with modern restrooms, a ballfield, small camper hooks, and a large red barn with cooking and dining facilities. Visitors have enjoyed ramp dinners in the spring and buckwheat/sausage dinners in the fall for many years at the park. The 295 acres of meadow and woodland is always available for hiking. Dunkard Creek is a popular fishing stream and the park is headquarters of the Dunkard Creek Watershed Assn. Seasonal festivities include the annual Ramp Festival, Purple Martin Festival and Frontier Festival.   16. Mason-Dixon Park, Mt. Morris, Greene County, PA — located near the above original historic park; on the banks of Dunkard Creek, just a few miles south of historic Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania. Besides acres of flat-as-a-pan meadow, the park's best known feature is the authentic log cabin that serves a a stage and backdrop for live musical performances during festivals held annually on the grounds. There are three festivals celebrating Ramps, or the native wild leek, the arrival of Purple Martins, and our community's Frontier Heritage.   17. Meadowlark Park — located across from McDonald's right before and to the right of the Freedom Bridge off Rt. 21 in Morrisville, PA. Meadowlark is a summer favorite for baseball tournaments with multiple ball fields with dugouts, soccer field, walking trail and concession stand. FMI call the Waynesburg Borough at 724-627-8111.

  18. Min Love Park — located within the Rices Landing Borough, PA. Featuring a gazebo, picnic tables, benches, swings and wooden pirate ship jungle gym. Also has boat docs, restrooms, and BBQ grills. FMI call 724-592-6055.

  19. Monument Park — located in front of the Paul R. Stewart Science Center at the Waynesburg University campus in Waynesburg, PA. This park is maintained by the Waynesburg Borough and is home to a monument dedicated to the soldiers and sailors form Greene County who fought in the Civil War. The inscription reads, "Erected by the County of Greene in grateful memory of her Soldiers and Sailors of the War for the Union." FMI call 724-627-8111.

  21. Morgan Township Park — located in Mather, PA. Features a gazebo, ball field, dugout, pavilion, bleachers, basketball court, playground, concession stand, and restrooms. FMI call 724-883-2150.

  22. Morris Township Community Park — located in Sycamore, PA and features a basketball court, pavilion, baseball field, playground, and community center. FMI call 724-627-3096.

  23. Park at Hobbes Run Road — located in Mt. Morris, PA. This park was new in 2007 with playground equipment and ball fields. FMI call Perry Township at 724-324-2861.

  24. Perry Township Community Park — located in Mt. Morris, PA. Offers a basketball court, tennis court, playground an picnic tables. FMI call Perry Township at 724-324-2861.

  25. Pumpkin Run Park — located in Rices Landing, PA. From deep cliffs to an old mill race, Pumpkin Run Park features a pavilion/picnic area with fire pit, as well as boating and recreational access to the Monongahela River.   26. Richhill Township Park #1 — located in the middle of Wind Ridge, PA; is fenced-in and features a basketball court, playground and pavilion. FMI call Richhill Township at 724-428-4465.

  27. Richhill Township Park #2 — located in between Wind Ridge and Graysville, PA; featuring ball fields, pavilion, concession stand, playground, picnic tables and paved walking trail. FMI call Richhill Township at 724-428-4465.

  28. Richie Park — located within Waynesburg Borough near the University and next to the Waynesburg Presbyterian Church. This lovely park boasts a metal arched bridge, benches and a gazebo making it a favorite for taking pictures and has been used as a location for Easter Egg hunts and weddings. FMI call 724-627-8111.

  29. Rogersville Community Park — located in Rogersville, PA and features a playground, softball fields, and pavilions. Pavilion Rental. FMI call Center Township at 724-499-5487.

  30. Ryerson Station State Park and Pool — located in the southwestern corner of Greene County on Bristoria Road in Wind Ridge, PA (near the West Virginia border).   33. Wana B Park — located on Ceylon Road in Carmichaels, PA. Besides the Eastern Pool described above, the park contains a playground with slides, swings and other equipment; ball fields; an outdoor track; and three pavilions available to rent at various rates.   34. Washington Township Park — located in Prosperity, PA and features two ballfields, pavilion, basketball court, playground, horseshoe pit, restrooms, bleachers and lighting. FMI call 724-627-6471.

  35. West Park — located in west Waynesburg, PA. This is a final park in the four-park series that stretches between Wayne and College Streets near Waynesburg University. It is the farthest park to the west of the four, hence its name! West Park is home to a small bridge and benches for passersby to stop and take a rest. FMI call 724-627-8111.
Greene County Tennis Courts:

The Greene County Tennis Courts are located along Rolling Meadows Road in Waynesburg. Free parking is available, the site features three full-sized tennis courts, outdoor lighting, a water fountain and a surrounding fence.

Members of the public are welcome to sign up to join one of the Greene County Parks and Recreation Tennis leagues. The mixed league practices Mondays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; the men’s doubles league practices Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and the women’s league practices Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Greene County Open Tennis Tournament is held at the Greene County Tennis Courts during the last full week of July.
