Greene County is home to many parks, pools and recreation facilities, all offering residents and visitors numerous spots to spend their leisure time. Prices are subject to change.

Foundation Coal Family Aquatic Center:

Presented by Foundation Coal, the Greene County Commissioners and the Department of Recreation, the Foundation Coal Family Aquatic Center officially opened July 19, 2007, replacing Central Pool.

Located adjacent to Lions Club Park in Franklin Township, the waterpark features a 330,000-gallon competition-sized pool with eight lap lanes, two diving boards and a 12-foot diving pool; a 40-by-40-foot children’s play area including a 148-foot spiral water slide, a 25-foot straight water slide, a 180-foot “lazy river” with tubes for floating, and water jets and other play equipment; a bath house with lockers, restrooms, showers and changing facilities; and a concession stand and seating area.

A community room is available onsite to rent for birthdays or other special events. The fee is $40 to rent for two hours, from either 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The rental fee includes one free admission to the pool. All parking is free.

Mon View Park and Pool:

Dedicated June 9, 2005, when the property became a county entity, Mon View Park is located in Monongahela Township. The park contains Mon View Pool (considered the “crown jewel” of the park), eight picnic pavilions, two baseball fields, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a horseshoe pit and a playground. Mon View Park is also home to a roller rink and community center.

Mon View Pool features a 200,000-gallon T-shaped pool, a diving board, an 11-foot diving pool, a 20-by-20-foot children’s play area, lockers, restrooms, showers, changing facilities and snack machines. The pool is available to rent for parties from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at a cost of $80. The eight picnic pavilions are also available to rent at various rates.

Mon View Park Roller Rink and Community Center became a county entity in 2005. The facility was completely renovated and officially re-opened April 11, 2008. Roller skates are available for rental, although skaters can bring their own skates or roller blades, as long as they are clean. A concession stand is also available.

The roller rink may be booked for private parties, and the facility also offers skating lessons and a club for skaters.

Wana B Park and Eastern Pool are located in Cumberland Township. The park contains a playground with slides, swings and other equipment; an outdoor track; and three pavilions available to rent at various rates. Eastern Pool features a 300,000-gallon Z-shaped pool, a diving board, an 11-foot diving pool, an 8-foot water slide, a 70-foot spiral water slide, a 15-by-15-foot children’s play area, lockers, restrooms, showers, changing facilities and snack machines. The pool is also available to rent for parties from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at a cost of $80.

  1. Burson Park: Location in Clarksville, PA. The park features a ball field, a multi-purpose field and an archery range. FMI contact the Clarksville VFD at 724-377-1460.


  2. Central Park: Located between Greene and High Streets in Waynesburg. Park features a playground with equipment, pavilions and a grass ball field. FMI call 724-627-8111.


  3. Center Township Park: Located next to Ten Mile Creek in Rogersville, PA. The community park offers 3 baseball/softball fields, horseshoe pits, a small playground, restrooms, picnic pavilions for rental. FMI call 724-499-5487.


  4. College Park: Located on the Waynesburg University Campus in front of Hanna and Miller Halls in Waynesburg, PA. This park boasts a historic fountain, benches, pathways and a watering hole known as Lake Wahnetta. Lake Wahnetta is for decorative purposes only these days but as was reported in the book "The Waynesburg College Story", by William Howard Dusenberry held clay deposits in the bottom that were used to make the bricks for Miller Hall. Lilly pads and gold fish make this well-maintained part of the part a peaceful spot. FMI call 724-627-8191.


  5. Crawford Park: Located off Porter Street in Waynesburg, PA. The park offers covered pavilions, picnic tables, baseball field, playground area, basket ball court, football field, volleyball court, concession area and restrooms. Handicap accessible. FMI call 724-627-5473.


  6. Emerald Field: Located west of Waynesburg, PA. Offering two Pony League baseball fields, dugouts, concession stands, bleachers, restrooms, swings, lingts. Owned by the Waynesburg Baseball League. FMI call 724-627-9982.


  7. Franklin Township Park: Located near the Aquatic Center in Waynesburg, PA. This community park features a playground, baseball diamonds, volleyball ad pavilions that are available for rental. FMI call 724-627-5473.


  8. Franklin Township Community Park 3: Offering two soccer fields, concession stand, stationary and portable goals. FMI call 724-627-5473.


  9. Greene Township Community Park: Located in Mt. Morris, PA. This community park features a basketball court, playground equipment, benches and soda machines. FMI call 724-966-5764.


  10. Hooper Park: Located in downtown Waynesburg on High Street. The park's centerpiece is a 66-inch bronze fountain of two children playing in the rain, to symbolize Waynesburg's historic Rain Day. The statue was donated by Waynesburg businessman Glenn R. Toothman III, who founded Memory Medallion, Inc.


  11. Jefferson Township Park: Located in Jefferson, PA. Featuring two ball fields, two pavilions, a basketvall court, playground equipment, bleachers, two dugouts and restrooms. FMI call 724-883-4900.


  12. Lions Club Park: Located in Franklin Township behind the Foundation Coal Family Aquatic Center in Waynesburg off Route 21. This park offers newly purchased playground equipment, picnic areas, parking and pavilions available for rent for special events. For more information, call 724-627-8380.


  13. Manufacturers Field: Located in Waynesburg, owned by Waynesburg University, offering the community a sports field for baseball and soccer field. FMI call 724-627-8191.


  14. The Original Mason-Dixon Historical Park: Located at 79 Buckeye Road, Core, WV and Mount Morris, PA. Park facilities are available to rent year-round, including pavilions with modern restrooms, a ballfield, small camper hooks, and a large red barn with cooking and dining facilities. Visitors have enjoyed ramp dinners in the spring and buckwheat/sausage dinners in the fall for many years at the park. The 295 acres of meadow and woodland is always available for hiking. Dunkard Creek is a popular fishing stream and the park is headquarters of the Dunkard Creek Watershed Assn. Seasonal festivities include the annual Ramp Festival, Purple Martin Festival and Frontier Festival.   15. Meadowlark Park: Located across from McDonald's right before and to the right of the Freedom Bridge in Morrisville, PA. Meadowlark is a summer favorite for baseball tournaments with multiple ball fields with dugouts, soccer field, walking trail and concession stand. FMI call 724-627-8111.


  16. Min Love Park: Located within the Rices Landing Borough, PA. Featuring a gazebo, picnic tables, benches, swings and wooden pirate ship jungle gym. Also has boat docs, restrooms, and BBQ grills. FMI call 724-592-6055.


  17. Monument Park: Located in front of the Paul R. Stewart Science Center at the Waynesburg University campus in Waynesburg, PA. This park is maintained by the Waynesburg Borough and is home to a monument dedicated to the soldiers and sailors form Greene County who fought in the Civil War. The inscription reads, "Erected by the County of Greene in grateful memory of her Soldiers and Sailors of the War for the Union." FMI call 724-627-8111.


  18. Morgan Township Park: Located in Mather, PA. Features a gazebo, ball field, dugout, pavilion, bleachers, basketball court, playground, concession stand, and restrooms. FMI call 724-883-2150.


  19. Morris Township Community Park: Located in Sycamore, PA and features a basketball court, pavilion, baseball field, playground, and community center. FMI call 724-627-3096.


  20. Park at Hobbes Run Road: Located in Mt. Morris, PA. This park was new in 2007 with playground equipment and ball fields. FMI call 724-324-2861.


  21. Perry Township Community Park: Located in Mt. Morris, PA. Offers a basketball court, tennis court, playground an picnic tables. FMI call 724-324-2861.


  22. Pumpkin Run Park: Located in Rices Landing, PA. From deep cliffs to an old mill race, Pumpkin Run Park features a pavilion/picnic area with fire pit, as well as boating and recreational access to the Monongahela River. This park has over 65 acres of recreational hiking and biking and is right next to the Greene River Trail. FMI call 724-592-5403 or 724-592-6055.


  23. Richhill Township Park #1: Located in Wind Ridge, PA and features a basketball court, playground and pavilion. FMI call 724-428-4465.


  24. Richhill Township Park #2: Located in Graysville, PA and features ball fields, pavilion, concession stand, playground, picnic tables and paved walking trail. FMI call 724-428-4465.


  25. Richie Park: Located within Waynesburg Borough near the University and next to the Waynesburg Presbyterian Church. This lovely park boasts a metal arched bridge, benches and a gazebo making it a favorite for taking pictures and has been used as a location for Easter Egg hunts and weddings.   26. Ryerson Station State Park and Pool: Located in Wind Ridge, PA and is comprised of more than 1,100 acres. The park contains a swimming pool, campsites, hiking trails and picnic sites.   27. Route 188 Park: Located east of Waynesburg off Jefferson Road. This park features soccer fields, picnic tables, concessions are and plenty of parking. Rentals available for birthday parties, reunions, etc. FMI call 724-627-5473.


  28. Washington Township Park: Located in Prosperity, PA and features two ballfields, pavilion, basketball court, playground, horseshoe pit, restrooms, bleachers and lighting. FMI call 724-627-6471.


  29. West Park: Located in west Waynesburg, PA. This is a final park in the four-park series that stretches between Wayne and College Streets near Waynesburg University. It is the farthest park to the west of the four, hence its name! West Park is home to a small bridge and benches for passersby to stop and take a rest. FMI call 724-627-8111.

Greene County Tennis Courts:
The Greene County Tennis Courts are located along Rolling Meadows Road in Waynesburg. The site features three full-sized tennis courts, restrooms, outdoor lighting, a water fountain and a surrounding fence.

Members of the public are welcome to sign up to join one of the Greene County Parks and Recreation Tennis leagues. The mixed league practices Mondays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; the men’s doubles league practices Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and the women’s league practices Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Greene County Open Tennis Tournament is held at the Greene County Tennis Courts during the last full week of July.
