Magisterial District Judge David Balint


Terms of Office:

David Balint, (D) 2018-present

Balint, 39, of Waynesburg, easily won both party nominations in the primary election of 2017, and the November general election as well.

Filling the vacant position of the past Judge Lou Dayich, Balint was sworn into office on December 21, 2017 to enable him to be ready for duty on January 1, 2018. Balant has already completed the required training to be certified as a magistrate.

Job Responsibilities:

The Magisterial District Judge in District 13-3-01 handles civil and criminal matters arising in Waynesburg Borough, Wayne Township and the West Greene School District (Aleppo Township, Center Township, Freeport Township, Gilmore Township, Gray Township, Jackson Township, Morris Township, Richhill Township and Springhill Township).


Community Supporter:

Outgoing controller David Balint was robed by his wife, Kayla, after he was sworn in as the new district judge for Waynesburg and communities in the western part of the county. Kayla later took the oath herself as Waynesburg borough tax collector. Balint has been controller since 2008 before seeking the judge's seat in 2017.

Active in the community, Balint volunteers as a firefighter with the Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department and treasurer of Greene County Democratic Party. He previously served on the boards of Bowlby Public Library and Corner Cupboard Food Band, and is a former treasurer and trustee of Washington Street United Methodist Church. He also is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers, Waynesburg Masonic Lodge and the Waynesburg Moose Lodge.

Waynesburg Central High School Graduate
Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Waynesburg College majoring in Accounting with a minor in Business Management.
Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
