Commissioners Board

The Commissioners Board meet to review and vote on various issues concerning County business, such as contracts, certificates and proclamations.

Meetings are held on Thursday's at 10:00 AM, on the 1st & 3rd weeks of each month in the 1st Floor Conference Room of the County Office Building.
The Commissioners Agenda Meetings are held on Wednesday's at 10:00 AM, on the 1st and 3rd weeks of each month in the 1st Floor Conference Room of the County Office Building.
Both meetings are open to the public.

Meeting dates and any changes will be posted publically in the local newspaper and on the county website.

The Greene County Board of Commissioners will be postponing the 10/21/2020 and 10/22/2020 public meetings due to lack of quorum.
The 10/21/2020 Agenda meeting will be held on 10/28/2020 at 10am in the County Office Building on the second floor.
The 10/22/2020 Commissioners/Salary/Retirement Board meetings will be held on 10/19/2020, starting at 10am in the County Office Building on the Second Floor.

The Greene County Commissioners are excited to announce a $2.5 million Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grant for increased broadband deployment.

Greene County Awarded Additional $300,000 for Small Businesses Assistance

Greene County has been awarded an additional $300,000 for the Forgivable Advance for Small Business Assistance (FASBA) program. The county expended its original allocation of just over $900,000 which was awarded to twenty-four businesses located throughout Greene County.

Mon View Pool Closing for the Season

The Greene County Commissioners announce the closure of the Mon View swimming pool due to lack of staff showing up to work. In addition to staffing issues, the pool has not had enough customers to justify keeping it open.

Carmichaels team wins Greene County Envirothon

The 34th Greene County Envirothon competition was held at Hunting Hills on Thursday, April 22. Forty high school students from three of Greene County's five school districts competed in this year's event. Carmichaels Team # 1 won this year's competition with a score of 401.5 points out of a possible 500.

Contributions Provide Funding for Free Greene County Summer Camp

Election Poll Workers Needed

Elections are made possible by citizens participating in the voting process and serving as poll workers across Pennsylvania. Greene County still needs additional poll workers for the May 18, 2021 Municipal Election. Poll workers are paid for their day of service.

In Greene: More Vaccine Available than Patients in Queue

Conservation District Announces Coloring Contest

The Greene County Conservation District would like to announce a coloring contest open to all Greene County Pre-K children. The top three entrants will receive new bicycles and helmets as prizes.

SWPA Area Agency on Aging Joins Vaccine Coalition

Since the first week of January, a coalition of medical authorities, county officials and other agencies have been meeting weekly in order to plan, organize and effectively administer the COVID-19 Vaccine. The Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, Inc. joined the team as a new partner.

In mid-October 2020, Greene County announced an initiative to upgrade the digital imagery available for county planners, assessment, tax claims, emergency services and other relevant county departments.

Greene Commissioners Approve Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolution

Greene County Commissioners, by majority vote, approved a resolution to make the county a sanctuary for Second Amendment rights. The proposed Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolution states that the county will not recognize the enforcement of any new laws that alter Second Amendment rights.

Mon-View Skating Rink

20 October 2020
The Greene County Recreation Department has announced the Mon View Roller Rink in Greensboro will open for the season on Friday, November 6. In order to be in compliance with CDC Guidelines and state restrictions, skating hours and procedures will be modified for the rest of this year.

County to Update Aerial Imagery

19 October 2020
The County of Greene has contracted with Eagleview Technologies, dba Pictometry International, to provide updated LiDAR data and high resolution imagery of the entire county. The LiDAR data will be collected, by airplane, during the last half of October, 2020.

Four PA Small Water Grants

The Greene County Commissioners announce the awarding of four PA Small Water and Sewer Grants for Greene County projects. In coordination with Cumberland Township and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority (SPWA), Greene County submitted an application to support the Jacobs Ferry Road Water Line Extension Project in December 2019.

COVID Rent Relief and Mortgage Assistance

Greene County Finalizes Vote County

Greene County officials have published the results of Tuesday’s Primary Election to their Election website; A total of 7,773 ballots have been cast and counted. The number of mail-in and absentee ballots, influenced by the changes of ACT 77,increased by approximately 3,000 compared to previous years.

Greene County Pools and Summer Camp Revisited

Governor Wolf announced late last Friday a significant change in criteria to be considered in the reopening plan for Pennsylvania, specifically for pools and summer day camps. In light of these changes, the Greene County Commissioners and Parks and Recreation anticipate opening two swimming pools and conducting a modified summer day camp schedule.

The Greene County Commissioners would like to recognize Crystal Simmons and her success in bringing Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to Greene County. Greene County will receive $660,212 to upgrade Brave Water System in Wayne Township.

Greene County Conservation District Coloring Contest Winners

The Greene County Conservation District held a pair of contests as part of Conservation District Week. The first contest was a coloring contest open to pre-K students across Greene County. The second was a poster contest open to all Greene County students in Kindergarten through the eighth grade.
