Officials investigating courthouse bomb threat

WAYNESBURG, PA. – Officials are currently investigating a bomb threat that was received via telephone at the Greene County Courthouse earlier this morning.

The threat was called in to one of the courthouse offices at around 8:30 a.m. and was immediately reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. The building was quickly evacuated for safety precautions and all employees are safe.

Sheriff Marcus Simms has requested bomb sniffing dogs from the Region for their investigation, which are expected to be on site shortly.

The Sheriff’s office is coordinating the investigation with county and court administration.
