Commissioners attend Memorial Day services

Greene County Commissioners Blair Zimmerman and Dave Coder spoke at a special service held Monday May 27 at the Crucible Honor Roll / World War II Monument, one of the many services and programs held throughout Greene County during the Memorial Day weekend that were held to honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.

Services, programs and parades were held on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 in Rices Landing, Jefferson, Mount Morris, Garards Fort, Carmichaels, Greensboro, Nemacolin, Crucible, Waynesburg, Mather and other areas.

The Greene County Commissioners thank the veterans’ organizations, the Greene County Veterans Affairs Office and the many agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals who volunteered to help coordinate and/or promote these Memorial Day services.

The Commissioners also thank those who participated in and attended these patriotic events.

And finally, the Commissioners proudly honor and salute the many fallen soldiers whose sacrifices enable all Americans to enjoy our freedom each and every day, and whose sacrifices should never be forgotten.
